Bat Legality
2018-05-10Bat Legality
Dear Parents
Our Executive Committee would like to thank you, the coaches, and the umpires(especially the new ones!) for the great start we've had to our season. We hope that the sun continues to shine warmly on our kids' faces and the rain falls softly on our fields.
One item we would like to emphasize is bat legality. Little League has changed the rules about bat sizes that are legal in the Minor and Major divisions. Players may now use bats that are either 2 1/4 inches or 2 5/8 inches in diameter and a bat must have a USA Baseball sticker on it. If it doesn't have a USA Baseball sticker, it is not legal. We have provided all coaches in these divisions with a bat to use, if your son/daughter's bat does not have a sticker. We have to follow this rule in order to be 100% insured. If buying a new bat, make sure it has a USA baseball sticker.
Also, remember that it takes a small army to keep things organized in the dugout. If your kid's coaching staff has less than 3 people in it, please consider offering a hand to your coach, even if it's just getting catching gear on, to help the game move along.
We wish everyone a great, fun-filled season!
